POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

Cancellation Policy

Payments made for tuition are non-refundable after the session begins.  There are no exceptions.

Make-up Classes for Private Lessons

If the absence caused by our unavailability, every effort will be made to make up the lesson.  If an absence caused by our unavailability is not made up, a credit will be given for the following semester.

Illness

Students who are ill should not come to piano lessons.  If students are only mildly ill, please email me and we will do a Zoom, FaceTime or Skype lesson. The extra performance class offered can be considered make-ups for absences due to illness. I reserve the right to send a student home if they arrive sick.

Zoom/Facetime/Google Hangouts

Zoom,Facetime, and Google Hangouts are becoming a very useful tool for teaching students who cannot make it to lessons due to illness, weather, etc.  If you have a computer with a camera close to your piano or a laptop that you can move close to the piano, please send me an email asking for my Zoom I.D (or add my phone to your Facetime).  This will allow me to call you and have a lesson with you over the internet if need be.

Performance classes

Performance classes can be viewed as a form of “makeup” lessons (I offer these 1-2 times a year right before a recital)

Cancellation of Group Class

Crescendo with Music reserves the right to cancel group classes due to unforeseen circumstances or insufficient enrollment.  Advance notice of 48 hours will be given if the session is not opening, and students may transfer to another program or receive a full refund.

Attendance

Students are expected to attend all scheduled lessons and classes on time. Any time missed due to lateness will not be made up.  If a teacher is late, missed time will be made up.

Parents’ Responsibility

Crescendo with Music is not liable for accidents or injuries sustained on its grounds.

Parental involvement for private piano lesson students under the age of 5 is strongly recommended.  Please review the assignment book with your child and encourage him/her to practice at home.

Student Expectations

Private piano lesson students are expected to practice at home every day for the same length as lesson time (ideally), or at least 15-20 minutes per day.  Students are expected to bring all the materials including assignment book and books at each lesson.
